Is it possible to like someone you hate?

Is anyone here who has experienced this? Its like, you dislike somebody with a pion and would do anything to profess your hate for them every second, but still inwardly you cant seem to get off thinking about them and wondering if there's more to them than the exterior they show off? You hate them, but still have a kind of niggling intrigue attached to them...and want to get close to them, to know them better? Has it ever happened to you? What do you think?
